The social development programme of the Anglican Church in Southern Africa • Patron: Archbishop of Cape Town, Thabo Makgoba

Guiding Hope

HOPE Africa is the Social Development programme of the Anglican Church in Southern Africa. It has evolved from the Board Of Social Responsibilities, which was largely the Anglican Church's outreach programme that dealt with societal injustices, mainly due to the Apartheid regime of South Africa.

Today the focus is geared towards people-centered development and poverty eradication. HOPE Africa partners with various Anglican organisations in the world, as well as civil society, business and government in South Africa.
